The first McDonald's branch in Jordan was opened in 1996, and here was the beginning of a local process of prosperity and progress. The above mentioned branch was opened in Ghosheh, however, there are 31 restaurants recently existing in various areas in Jordan, and are extended in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Salt and Aqaba. All McDonald's restaurants in Jordan are owned and run by Armoush company for tourist investments. The investments of McDonald's company, widely expanded in a short period of time, gives the priority to local and arabic investors. Consequently, the company's total dependence on materials locally manufactured is 70%. In addition, each restaurant provides job opportunities for local contractors who work on building it, and opportunities for those who work on the facilities and services as well. In order to develop local citizens' capabilities and to reach the best quality standards and highest service, the company devotes training programs and provides job opportunities for those who are interested to join McDonald's staff.
