QA Team Lead iGaming

On behalf of a leading iGaming company we are looking for an experienced QA Automation Team Lead to join their Engineering team in Mauritius.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining automation engineering with QA team leadership. You will own and evolve the automation framework drive quality across the engineering lifecycle and lead a team of QA engineers delivering reliable scalable testing across a complex iGaming platform.

The engineering organisation is AI-first actively using modern AI coding assistants to accelerate development testing debugging and automation. We are looking for someone who embraces these tools while applying strong engineering judgment and maintaining high standards for code and product quality.

• Own maintain and continuously expand the Playwright TypeScript automation framework and automated regression suite.
• Increase automation coverage by converting manual regression scenarios into stable maintainable and reliable automated tests.
• Design and maintain end-to-end test architecture including Page Objects fixtures reusable utilities test data and automation patterns.
• Develop automated REST API tests using typed API clients with a focus on service-level validation rather than relying solely on UI automation.
• Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code Cursor GitHub Copilot or similar tools as part of your daily engineering workflow to develop refactor debug and improve automated tests.
• Apply sound engineering judgment when reviewing and validating AI-generated code ensuring automation remains reliable maintainable and fit for purpose.
• Own the health and reliability of the GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline investigating failures reducing flaky tests and ensuring regression suites provide trustworthy results.
• Validate complex end-to-end business workflows across player web mobile retail/POS and back-office systems.
• Test critical iGaming functionality including betting settlements wallets bonuses and related player journeys.
• Identify opportunities to improve test architecture tooling processes and overall engineering quality.

• Lead and coordinate a QA team of three engineers including one remote team member.
• Plan testing activities allocate work coordinate regression cycles and manage release readiness and QA sign-offs.
• Represent QA in engineering stand-ups sprint planning release planning and other cross-functional discussions.
• Work closely with the QA team in Israel to align testing scope priorities standards and release quality.
• Act as the primary QA point of contact across Engineering Product Technical Support and Management.
• Mentor QA engineers and support manual testers in developing automation skills and adopting modern AI-assisted testing practices.
• Train and support the Technical Support team on new features known issues and troubleshooting procedures to improve customer issue resolution.
• Maintain regression documentation test cases and QA processes in ClickUp.
• Provide regular reporting on automation coverage regression results defect trends test reliability and overall product quality.

• 4 years of hands-on test automation experience.
• Strong practical experience with Playwright. Candidates with strong Cypress or Selenium experience who are willing to transition to Playwright are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript development skills.
• Proven experience building and maintaining automated UI and REST API tests.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code Cursor GitHub Copilot or similar tools as part of your engineering workflow.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines preferably GitHub Actions including troubleshooting failures and reducing flaky tests.
• Experience leading mentoring or coordinating QA activities. Previous formal people-management experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Comfortable working with Git pull requests code reviews and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong understanding of test automation principles framework design maintainability and test reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• A hands-on mindset and the ability to balance technical delivery leadership and quality ownership.

• Experience using AI beyond code generation such as automated test generation log analysis failure investigation intelligent test selection or AI-powered QA tooling.
• Previous experience in iGaming sports betting casino or online gaming.
• Knowledge of iGaming concepts including odds settlements wallets bonuses player journeys and responsible gaming.
• Experience testing retail/POS systems or complex multi-tenant platforms.
• Familiarity with ClickUp or similar test and project management tools.
• Experience testing mobile web applications and managing browser- device- and platform-specific behaviours.
• Experience working in distributed or international engineering teams.
