Senior Sommelier

About the role:

• You will be the restaurants expert on wine while ensuring five-star service to our patrons.
• We are seeking a thorough professional who is adept at new wine trends and makes recommendations with confidence and passion.
• As a Senior Sommelier you will delight our guests by helping them choose the best wine to complete meal experiences.
• Develop and mentor Sommeliers and front-of-house colleagues.
• Drive beverage revenue through strategic recommendations and upselling.
• You will be responsible for creating and updating the wine list in coordination with the F&B Manager as well as ensuring all beverages are stored securely.
• You will share your knowledge through informative training of the outlet team members and management.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will possess:

• You are passionate about wine and have relevant experience in a similar property
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Sommelier within a Michelin-starred or luxury fine dinning environment.
• Formal wine certification (e.g. WSET Level 3 Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent) is preferred.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring Sommeliers or front-of-house teams.
• Valid Food Handler Licence in accordance with Maltese regulations (maintained at all times).
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to maximise beverage revenue.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are considered an asset.
• You have a natural flair for service and delivering a strong service culture with the ability to motivate and develop others.
