Production supervisor

The production manager/supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-dayoperations of the production department ensuring all projects are completed efficientlyto the required quality standards and within the agreed production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all daily production activitiesensuring work is progressing according to schedule.

• Planning & Allocation: Plan prioritise and allocate production work to therelevant teams and operators.
• Team Supervision: Ensure all employees understand their daily responsibilities andthat production targets are achieved.
• Order Prioritisation: Review incoming orders and determine production prioritiesbased on deadlines and installation schedules.
  Material Preparation: Prepare and allocate the necessary materials required forproduction.
• Material Inspection & Approval: Inspect slabs and materials prior to productionassessing scratches chips cracks or other imperfections and make decisions onwhether production should proceed or alternative solutions are required.
• Production Decision Making: Make technical and operational decisions regardingproduction quality and material suitability.
• Quality Control: Monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing process andensure Seamless quality standards are maintained.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate closely with the Sales Logistics andInstallation departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
• Operations Meetings: Participate in weekly Operations Meetings providing productionupdates discussing ongoing projects identifying bottlenecks and ensuring agreed actionpoints are implemented.
  
• Implementation of Procedures: Ensure all production procedures and operationalchanges agreed during meetings are eƯectively communicated and followed by theproduction team.
• Machinery Knowledge & Operation: Maintain a good understanding of all productionmachinery and be capable of programming or operating equipment when requiredincluding:
  
  • CNC Machine
  • Waterjet Machine
  • Edge Polisher
  • Other production equipment as required.
• Technical Support: Assist machine operators with programming troubleshooting andproduction optimisation where necessary.
• Machine Performance Monitoring: Monitor machine utilisation and coordinatemaintenance requirements to minimise downtime.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all production is carried out safely and inaccordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity workfloweƯiciency and production processes.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise production staff provide guidance resolve day-to-dayoperational issues and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Production Floor Organisation: Ensure production areas remain organised clean andefficient at all times.
• Stock Control: Monitor stock levels of production materials and communicate any
  shortages or procurement requirements.
• Operational Performance: Support continuous improvement initiatives and contributetowards achieving the companys operational objectives.
• Waste Reporting: Monitor and report production waste on a daily basis through thedesignated group chat ensuring accurate reporting and promoting continuous wastereduction initiatives.
• Light Machinery Maintenance: Carry out routine light maintenance on productionmachinery including basic inspections cleaning lubrication and minor adjustmentswhile coordinating with the Maintenance Department for major repairs or servicing to
  minimise downtime.

This role requires strong leadership sound technical knowledge excellent decision-makingskills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects while maintaining the clientshigh standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
