Job Summary
Our client a respected organization in Malta is currently seeking a Head of Client Accounting to join their team.
The role is responsible for overseeing the client accounting function ensuring accurate financial reporting regulatory compliance and high-quality service delivery across a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading the accounting team and driving process improvements within the department.
Recruiting applicants already residing in Malta.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the client accounting team including performance management and workload allocation.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for a varied client portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS GAPSME and all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Act as escalation point for complex accounting and reporting matters.
- Drive improvements in internal processes controls and reporting efficiency.
- Support senior client relationships and maintain high service standards.
- Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure timely VAT payroll and statutory reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with tax corporate and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in a senior accounting or leadership role within a CSP or professional services environment.
- Proven experience managing accounting teams and client portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS GAPSME and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- ACCA qualification or equivalent in Accounting/Finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
