Job Overview
- Strategic Leadership: Directs overall manufacturing operations for a high-precision facility running 5060 CNC machines across two shifts.
- Production Scope: Balances New Product Introduction (NPI) with medium-to-high volume batch production ensuring alignment with corporate targets and budgets.
- Operational Excellence: Serves as a continuous improvement leader to optimize cycle times refine fabrication methods and boost overall plant productivity.
- Key Performance Drivers: Enhances team performance to maximize efficiency quality yield and on-time delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Advanced Manufacturing
- High-Precision Engineering Leadership: Provide strategic and technical oversight for advanced 5-axis CNC machining environments maintaining capabilities to achieve ultra-tight dimensional tolerances down to 3 microns (0.003mm) and complex geometries.
- Smart Manufacturing & Digital Innovation: Leverage AI tools modern simulation and automated workflow solutions to optimize toolpaths programming efficiency and shop-floor throughput.
- End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Oversee the transition from New Product Introduction (NPI) and prototyping through to full-scale high-volume production.
2. ERP-Driven Operations & Capacity Planning
- Production Scheduling & Resource Management: Utilize advanced ERP/MRP systems to optimize shift capacities streamline material workflows and ensure reliable on-time delivery.
- Large-Scale Fleet Management: Direct daily operations across a high-capacity CNC machining floor operating on multi-shift schedules.
- Continuous Improvement & OEE: Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to systematically reduce cycle times minimize scrap/rework and maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
3. Quality Control & Cost Management
- In-Process Quality Assurance: Enforce rigorous In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) standards to meet strict customer specifications and defect-free standards.
- Budgetary & Cost Optimization: Manage operational expenses tooling consumable life cycles and preventive maintenance schedules to control manufacturing costs and eliminate downtime.
4. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Tiered Leadership Structure: Manage and mentor production supervisors and shift leads ensuring effective execution across all operating shifts.
- Workforce Excellence & Safety: Cultivate a culture of accountability continuous skill development operational discipline and strict adherence to shop-floor safety protocols.
