Job Description

Position Title: Cloud Security Engineer


We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in cloud security infrastructure security or a related cybersecurity role. The successful candidate will help design implement monitor and improve security controls across cloud platforms supporting secure operations threat detection identity and access management and compliance requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation who is looking to grow and expand upon their expertise in securing modern cloud environments.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and implementing security controls across cloud platforms predominantly Microsoft Azure
  • Monitor cloud environments for security events misconfigurations and suspicious activity and support incident investigation and response.
  • Perform configuration reviews and risk analysis for cloud-hosted systems and services.
  • Support the implementation and management of identity and access controls including least privilege role-based access and privileged account protection.
  • Work with infrastructure DevOps and application teams to integrate security into cloud deployments and operational processes.
  • Help maintain and improve cloud security tooling including logging alerting posture management and endpoint or workload protection solutions.
  • Contribute to security documentation standards procedures and technical runbooks.
  • Support compliance and audit activities by helping gather evidence and validating security controls.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud threats vulnerabilities and security best practices.



Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud security cybersecurity engineering infrastructure security or a related technical security role.
  • Good understanding of cloud security principles including identity and access management network security data protection logging and monitoring.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with security tools and services such as cloud-native security platforms SIEM vulnerability management and endpoint detection solutions.
  • Understanding of secure configuration practices for virtual machines storage networking containers and cloud services.
  • Experience supporting security incident response remediation or operational troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 NIST or similar.
  • Knowledge of Sentinel or similar tools would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Intune Defender and Purview would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.



Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-500 SC-200 SC-300 CCSK or CompTIA Security.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code CI/CD security or DevSecOps practices.
  • Exposure to regulatory or customer security requirements in enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in a SOC engineering or cloud operations environment.
  • Experience working with AWS would be beneficial.
