Senior Java Backend Developer Technical Lead (mf)

ARHS Group part of Accenture is looking for a Senior Java Backend Technical Lead (m/f) to join one of our client teams onsite in Luxembourg within a European institutional environment.

In this role you will combine hands-on backend development with technical leadership contributing to the design development and evolution of business-critical applications. Working closely with architects business analysts QA DevOps and development teams you will drive technical excellence while ensuring the delivery of secure scalable and high-quality software solutions.

THE WORK:

• Design develop and maintain robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of new features and system enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor Java developers within the team.
• Perform code reviews and promote coding standards best practices and software quality.
• Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure the maintainability performance reliability and security of backend applications.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects Business Analysts QA Engineers and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to testing activities design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support CI/CD processes and participate in deployment and release activities.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues through root cause analysis and second-line support.
• Drive technical decisions and proactively identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and development practices.

Onsite at client site: This role requires an onsite presence with our clients and partners to support project delivery and strengthen collaboration.

HERES WHAT YOULL NEED:

• At least 7 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17.
• Excellent knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience with JPA Hibernate and SQL.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging technologies.
• Experience with Maven Git and JUnit.
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices and software delivery pipelines.
• Experience leading technical discussions mentoring developers and reviewing code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex technical challenges.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

• Experience within the financial services or banking sector.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Liquibase.
• Experience with SOAP Web Services.
• Familiarity with secure high-availability and mission-critical enterprise applications.
