About the position
Nayax Europe UAB is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Vilnius team and support Nayax activity and subsidiaries in Europe. Nayax Europe is part of the Nayax Group and is based in Vilnius. As part of the legal function you will be supporting our Bank of Lithuanialicensed EMI advise business units across the Nayax Group manage the legal aspects of agreements with third parties coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and legal advisors help ensure the implementation of internal legal policies and procedures and support corporate governance.
You will also act as the entitys Data Protection Officer monitoring compliance with the GDPR and Lithuanian data protection law advising on data protection impact assessments and processing activities negotiating data protection agreements handling data subject requests and serving as the contact point for the State Data Protection Inspectorate.
This role suits a proactive commercially minded lawyer with solid regulatory experience and a sense of ownership who wants to be involved in a global fintech operation run crossfunctional projects and contribute to a dynamic team in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to various business units departments and teams across Nayax activity in Europe and the wider Nayax Group.
- Advise on regulatory law matters relevant to a licensed EMI including PSD2/EMD2 EBA BoL guidelines.
- Draft review negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements including payment and acquiring partners service providers and suppliers and other contracts.
- Familiarity with data protection and privacy laws in particular GDPR and experience in negotiating DPAs.
- Support procurement processes by providing legal guidance and ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support global and cross-functional legal projects collaborating with multiple stakeholders
- Handle corporate governance matters for various entities within the Nayax Group in Europe.
- Support interactions with the Bank of Lithuania and external legal counsel on regulatory and corporate matters.
- Work closely with the team of global legal experts and functional leaders in compliance data protection outsourcing and AML.

Requirements:
What Makes You a Great Fit
- University degree in Law
- Regulatory law experience is essential. Ideally within payments e-money banking or the broader financial-services sector.
- Knowledge of the Lithuanian regulatory environment and Bank of Lithuania expectations.
- 45 years of experience in commercial corporate and financial-services regulatory law gained either at a leading law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Lithuanian and English.
- Fluency in French German or Spanish an advantage
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience in drafting and managing various commercial agreements
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with collaborative environments including collaborating and liaising with cross-departmental and global teams.
