Job Summary

Purpose:

Metallurgist will support the metallurgical performance of the roasting and smelting Processing Plant.

The role will focus on daily plant monitoring metallurgical accounting support test work and operational troubleshooting

across all unit operations including exposure to operations. The position works closely with the technical superintendent

and operations team to optimize recovery product quality and plant stability.

Responsibilities:

Ensure metallurgical activities comply with site safety environmental and regulatory requirements.

Monitor analyze and report daily metallurgical performance of the crushing roasting sulfuric acid production

reduction furnace refining furnace fuming furnace and lab.

Assist with the review of daily plant results including throughput recovery reagent consumption and product

quality.

Support troubleshooting of metallurgical and process issues in collaboration with Operations and the Senior

Metallurgist.

Assist in implementing plant improvement initiatives and metallurgical test work programs.

Assist in maintaining the site metallurgical accounting system and ensuring accurate data capture.

Assist with monitoring material characteristics relevant to deposition slag recovery and metallurgical

performance.

Collect and analyze slags and material samples as required.

Work closely with Operations Maintenance Mining Geology and Environment teams to support production

targets.

Actively develop technical and operational skills under the guidance of the Senior Metallurgist.

Requirements

Degree in Metallurgical / Process / Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a Metallurgist role within a pyrometallurgical plant
Extensive experience in Pyrometallurgical environment (Rotary kiln Reduction Furnaces / and Refining furnaces)
Sound understanding of research and development process principles in the industry
Highly computer literate and well experienced in Microsoft office.
Good communication skills for effective liaison and teamwork.
Problem-solving skills analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently
Good presentation skills
The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly
Confident decision-making ability

Required Skills:
