leaching & Electrowinning Metallurgist
Job Summary
Job Purpose:
To provide metallurgical oversight of the leaching and electrowinning circuit optimising recovery product quality and process performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and optimise leach and electrowinning process performance (recovery current efficiency reagent consumption)
- Conduct metallurgical accounting and mass balance for the circuit
- Investigate and resolve process performance issues in conjunction with Production and Maintenance
- Support test work and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure the quality control sampling and analysis programme is followed
- Provide technical training and support to shift teams
- Report metallurgical performance to the Technical and Quality Superintendent
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree in Metallurgy Chemical Engineering or related field
Experience:
Essential:
- 5 years experience in a hydrometallurgical (leach/solvent extraction-electrowinning) processing environment
- Prior antimony-specific experience is not required - equivalent experience in copper or other base-metal hydrometallurgical operations is acceptable.
Desirable:
- Experience with metallurgical accounting or mass balance software

Required Skills:
BSc/B-tech degree in electrical Engineering 5 years of relevant post graduate experience within a Pyrometallurgical environment (Rotary kiln Reduction Furnaces / and Refining furnaces) Level & Type of Knowledge Experience & Skills Required: Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes standards and safety regulations. Proficiency in engineering software and design tools relevant to E&I systems. Experience in project execution including testing and commissioning of E&I systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Proficiency in engineering design review and technical assurance Ability to interpret and approve electrical drawings and calculations Sound understanding of EPC and construction methodologies
