Cardiac Anesthesia & ICU Consultant
Department: Cardiac Anesthesia & Intensive Care Unit
Reports To: Head of Cardiac Anesthesia & ICU
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Consultant will provide expert anesthesia services for complex cardiac surgery and comprehensive postoperative intensive care management while supporting clinical excellence and mentoring junior physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesia for complex cardiac surgical procedures.
- Manage critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Respond to perioperative emergencies.
- Supervise specialist physicians and residents.
- Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in departmental education and research.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical Degree.
- Specialist Degree in Anesthesiology.
- Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia.
- Fellowship/Specialist qualification in Critical Care Medicine/ICU.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience.
Required Skills:
Provide anesthesia for complex cardiac surgical procedures. Manage critically ill patients in the ICU. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds. Respond to perioperative emergencies.
