The school offers a broad interdisciplinary foundation in the natural sciences mathematics humanities and education equipping students with critical thinking analytical communication and research skills essential for academic and professional success.
Position Overview:
The Mathematics Faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Mathematics and related disciplines supporting student learning and academic success and contributing to the continuous improvement of academic programs. The faculty member actively participates in curriculum development assessment activities scholarly engagement and university service while fostering an inclusive and intellectually stimulating learning environment. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across disciplines mentoring students and supporting the mission and strategic objectives of the American International University through excellence in teaching research and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics and related subject areas in accordance with the Universitys academic standards and curriculum requirements.
- Develop update and deliver course materials including syllabi lectures assignments examinations and other instructional resources.
- Assess student learning and provide timely constructive feedback to support academic success and achievement.
- Participate in curriculum development program assessment and continuous improvement initiatives within the Math department.
- Engage in scholarly research and professional development activities that contribute to the advancement of discipline and the Universitys academic mission.
- Contribute to departmental school and university committees meetings and service activities as required.
- Foster an inclusive respectful and intellectually stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and academic projects.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Math department head or the school dean.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Mathematics from an accredited institution.
- Prior university-level teaching experience in Mathematics or related subject areas.
- Ability to contribute effectively to curriculum development assessment and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Strong commitment to academic excellence and high-quality instruction with a demonstrated ability to foster student learning and engagement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
