Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Travel Specialist to join a leading luxury property and travel group based in Nairobi. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate travel professional with exceptional destination knowledge strong sales ability and a flair for creating unforgettable luxury safari experiences across East Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international travel agents tour operators guests and suppliers.
  • Design bespoke FIT luxury itineraries throughout East Africa.
  • Manage the complete reservations process from enquiry through to travel completion.
  • Prepare accurate quotations itineraries invoices and travel documentation.
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings while delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Coordinate bookings with lodges camps airlines guides and ground handling teams.
  • Ensure all guest preferences and special requests are accurately captured and communicated.
  • Monitor bookings to ensure seamless travel experiences from start to finish.
  • Adhere to company turnaround times and service standards.
  • Provide operational support to colleagues when required.
  • Participate in weekend and public holiday duty on a rotational basis.
  • Continuously expand product and destination knowledge through ongoing training.
  • Stay informed on new safari products destinations and travel developments within East Africa.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 35 years experience in luxury safari reservations or tour consulting.
  • Diploma or Degree in Tourism Management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of East African safari destinations including Kenya Tanzania Rwanda and Uganda.
  • Knowledge of Southern African destinations will be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Experience working with international travel agents and high-end clientele.
  • Strong knowledge of reservation systems including Tourplan or similar booking platforms.
  • Experience with WETU or similar itinerary software will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for luxury travel wildlife and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
