Role: Sports Lead ( International School)

Lead mentor and line-manage all PE teachers swimming instructors and external coaches to ensure high-quality instructional delivery.
Develop and implement the annual Sports & PE strategic plan aligned with the school vision and calendar.
Create a comprehensive yearly sports calendar (PE swimming galas competitions inter-school events and friendlies).
Conduct regular lesson observations and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain teaching standards.
Ensure 100% curriculum coverage according to school standards.
Develop and standardise schemes of work lesson plans and assessment frameworks.
Plan and organize after-school sports trainings.
Organise and coordinate sports events including but not limited to inter-house competitions annual sports days swimming galas and inter-school tournaments.
Ensure proper logistics (venues equipment transport fixtures).
Maintain accurate sports inventory and ensure equipment is safe and properly stored.
Communicate sports schedules to staff and parents.
Any other duties assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Physical Education Sports Science or related field.
Another teaching subject is an added advantage.
Swimming qualification/lifeguard certification (preferred).
Coaching certifications (added advantage).
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in an International School.
Leadership experience preferred.
Required Skills:
Leadership & Management of Languages Department Lead the planning delivery and evaluation of the Languages curriculum (e.g. English Kiswahili French). Oversee the implementation and review of the Cambridge Global Perspectives curriculum across KS1KS3 to ensure a seamless progression of skills. Ensure alignment with Cambridge Assessment International Education standards and frameworks. Develop schemes of work lesson plans and assessment strategies across KS1KS3. Monitor teaching quality through lesson observations book reviews and feedback. Mentor and support language teachers including performance management and professional development. Organize departmental meetings and contribute to the whole-school academic strategy. Teaching Responsibilities Teach English Literature and Global Perspectives across all Key Stages. Deliver engaging differentiated lessons that meet diverse learner needs. Set mark and assess classwork homework and examinations in a timely manner. Prepare learners for internal and external assessments (e.g. Cambridge Checkpoint). Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance learning. Class Teacher Responsibilities Serve as a Key Stage 3 class teacher for an assigned class. Take responsibility for students academic progress behaviour and wellbeing. Maintain accurate records of attendance performance and development. Build strong relationships with students to support personal growth. Communicate effectively with parents through meetings reports and school platforms. Promote student welfare in line with safeguarding policies. Act as a role model for professionalism integrity and inclusivity. Ensure a safe supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Curriculum Development & Assessment Develop and review curriculum resources to ensure relevance and progression. Implement assessment frameworks in line with Cambridge standards. Analyse student performance data to inform teaching strategies. Lead interventions for students needing additional support. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure teaching practices meet school standards and regulatory requirements. Support school accreditation and inspection processes. Maintain proper documentation (schemes of work assessments reports). Co-curricular & Enrichment Activities Organize language-related activities (e.g. debates reading clubs cultural days). Promote literacy and multilingual development across the school. Support school events and extracurricular programmes. Staff Development Identify training needs within the Languages Department. Conduct coaching mentoring and professional development sessions. Encourage innovative teaching practices and continuous improvement. Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Bachelor of Education Degree in English Literature from a recognized university. Masters Degree in Education or Languages is an added advantage. Strong leadership or coordination experience. Experience as a Head of Department or Subject Leader. Proven experience in delivering the Cambridge Global Perspectives program at either the Primary or Lower Secondary level. Experience teaching in a Cambridge curriculum school with proven experience teaching across KS1KS3. Familiarity with Cambridge Checkpoint and assessment systems. TSC Registration.
