Job Overview

Our client is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and hands-on Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded reconciled and processed on time.

The successful candidate will have strong experience across Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable taxation statutory compliance payroll petty cash and inventory management. The role will work closely with Sales Operations Customer Service vendors and clients to ensure smooth financial operations and timely resolution of accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare customer invoices record payments and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Process supplier invoices payments and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Perform bank customer supplier and General Ledger reconciliations resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and submit statutory obligations including VAT PAYE WHT and other applicable deductions.
  • Support payroll processing and statutory remittances.

  • Manage petty cash and maintain accurate supporting records.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock records and support stock reconciliations.
  • Support month-end closing journal entries and preparation of financial reports.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations and Customer Service to resolve billing collections and finance-related queries.
  • Support tax and statutory audits by providing accurate financial records and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Commerce or a related field.
  • CPA qualification or progress toward CPA is an added advantage.
  • 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferably in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Practical experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Good knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with VAT PAYE WHT and other statutory reconciliations and filings.
  • Experience handling M-Pesa and bank payment reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in payroll petty cash and inventory management is an advantage.
