On behalf of our client we are looking for a competent skilled and experienced Assistant Finance Manager Receivables & Inventory Control to work in Nairobi Kenya.

Job Purpose

Maintaining a robust financial control environment for the organization with primary accountability for accounts receivable inventory control financial reporting statutory compliance and working capital management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Record Keeping

Maintain accurate financial records and deliver timely reconciliations month-end schedules management accounts budgets forecasts and cash flow reports.

Ensure compliance with IFRS Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) statutory audit and internal control requirements.

Prepare timely returns schedules supporting evidence and responses to audit queries.


2. Accounts Receivable Management

Lead accounts receivable management ensuring accurate invoicing disciplined collections and credit control.

Conduct timely customer reconciliations effective dispute resolution and follow-up of overdue balances.


3. Inventory & Warehouse Controls

Strengthen inventory and warehouse controls through timely stock reconciliations goods received note (GRN) reviews cycle and full stock counts and variance investigations.

Provide effective oversight of warehouse supervisors.


4. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

Monitor working capital through cash flow reporting bank reconciliations and analysis of receivables payables and inventory movements.

Promptly escalate risks and recommend corrective action.


5. ERP & Process Improvement

Improve ERP discipline and finance processes.

Identify practical automation opportunities and maintain KPI dashboards that strengthen control visibility and decision-making.


6. Team Leadership

Supervise the accounts receivable invoicing and warehouse teams.

Set clear expectations and build a culture of accountability accuracy confidentiality and continuous improvement.



Requirements

Qualification and Experience

Education

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Commerce Business Administration or a related field.

Professional qualification: CPA(K) preferred; ACCA or CIMA also acceptable.


Experience

35 years relevant experience in finance accounts receivable inventory accounting or management accounting.

At least 12 years in a supervisory role.

Practical knowledge of the Kenyan regulatory environment including KRA and other statutory compliance requirements.

Experience working with external auditors.

Strong hands-on experience in ERP-based transaction processing reconciliations reporting and internal control monitoring.


Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of IFRS-based financial reporting.

Strong accounts receivable credit control and collections capability.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables formulas XLOOKUP and basic macros.

Strong SAP experience is required; exposure to Sage is preferred.

Strong understanding of inventory accounting and warehouse controls.

Sound knowledge of statutory filing and remittance processes.

Exposure to automation or AI-enabled finance processes is an added advantage.
