On behalf of our client we are looking for a competent skilled and experienced Human Resources Assistant to work in Nairobi Kenya.

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist in the implementation of HR processes and programs. The role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build experience in recruitment employee records management onboarding training coordination and general HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Onboarding & Records

Support the onboarding process for new hires.

Prepare employee files and maintain accurate HR records.

Update employee information in HR systems and databases.

Ensure all personnel documents are properly filed and maintained.


2. HR Administration

Assist employees with routine HR inquiries and requests.

Prepare HR letters reports and other administrative documents.

Track employees leave records and attendance information.

Support the preparation and organization of HR meetings and activities.


3. Learning & Development

Coordinate training schedules and attendance records.

Assist in organizing employee engagement and wellness initiatives.

Maintain training databases and records.


4. Compliance & Policy Administration

Ensure employee records comply with company policies and statutory requirements.

Support HR audits and documentation reviews.

Assist in communicating HR policies and procedures to employees.


5. Payroll Support

Collect and compile monthly payroll input information.

Liaise with employees regarding payroll-related documentation.



Requirements

Education

Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration Commerce Psychology Social Sciences or a related field.

CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) qualification in progress is an added advantage.

Membership or student membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya is an added advantage.


Experience

At least 12 years of relevant experience in HR administration internships industrial attachment or office support roles.

Prior exposure to HR processes through internship or attachment will be an added advantage.


Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and Word.

Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.

Ability to prepare simple reports and maintain databases.


Personal Attributes

High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Good time management and multitasking skills.
