Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead and oversee the Companys procurement function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies managing supplier relationships ensuring compliance with procurement policies optimizing procurement costs and supporting operational continuity through efficient sourcing and supply chain management.

The Procurement Manager will provide leadership to the procurement team while ensuring that procurement activities are conducted with integrity transparency efficiency and in alignment with the Companys operational and financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies policies and procedures to support organizational objectives.
  • Lead supervise and mentor the procurement team to ensure effective execution of procurement activities.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process including requisition review sourcing supplier selection negotiations contracting purchasing and delivery follow-up.
  • Develop annual and periodic procurement plans in collaboration with departmental heads.
  • Review and approve procurement requests quotations supplier recommendations and purchase orders within delegated authority limits.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing service levels payment terms and contractual agreements with suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement supplier evaluation and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies budgetary controls contractual obligations and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee inventory replenishment strategies and coordinate with relevant departments to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Monitor procurement risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports expenditure analyses savings reports and management updates.
  • Coordinate procurement audits and ensure proper maintenance of procurement records and documentation.
  • Support cross-functional projects and provide procurement guidance to management and operational teams.
  • Perform any other duties assigned in support of business operations.



Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management Purchasing and Supplies Business Administration Commerce or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPS or membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) in good standing is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant procurement experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing supplier management contract negotiations and procurement planning.
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance inventory management and supply chain best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/procurement systems.
