Procurement Intern
Job Summary
- Sourcing and Supplier Engagement: Identify and source suppliers for engineering materials tools and consumables; solicit and analyze quotations; and maintain a comprehensive up-to-date database of supplier details pricing and product specifications.
- Purchase Order Management: Draft and process purchase orders ensuring all details regarding quantities specifications costs and delivery terms are accurate; follow up on order confirmations and supplier responses.
- Project Procurement Assistance: Support specific engineering initiatives including borehole solar water pumping and irrigation projects by sourcing technical components such as pumps solar panels inverters and cabling; monitor delivery schedules and escalate any potential delays or discrepancies.
- Inventory and Stores Coordination: Monitor stock levels to identify replenishment needs; verify received goods against purchase orders and delivery notes; and assist in maintaining precise inventory records while reporting any damages or errors.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Facilitate communication with vendors regarding pricing availability and lead times; track outstanding quotations and orders; and assist in evaluating supplier performance based on reliability quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Cost Control and Compliance: Monitor procurement expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities; compare pricing variations; and ensure all purchasing activities adhere to established company policies and authorization protocols.
- Administrative Support and Reporting: Generate procurement reports and trackers; organize and file all relevant documentation including invoices and delivery notes; and assist the Finance team with payment reconciliation and required documentation.
- Education: Recently graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Procurement Supply Chain Management Purchasing & Supplies Business Administration or a related field (upper division).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel and Word; solid numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build professional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment meet strict deadlines and work collaboratively across various departments.

Required Skills:
Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Water Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of Second class honours (upper division). Experience: Minimum 2 years of sales experience in Water & Energy Engineering. Product Expertise: Proven experience in sales and marketing of water pumps boreholes solar water treatment swimming pools irrigation and power products. Travel Requirements: Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively. Core Skills: Excellent sales negotiation communication and customer relationship skills. Business Acumen: Target-driven with strong business development skills. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems along with the ability to prepare sales reports and maintain accurate client records.
