Job Overview

Our client is a growing packaging manufacturer specialising in corrugated and customised packaging solutions. They are seeking a hands-on and organised Operations Supervisor to oversee daily production activities supervise production teams and ensure efficient timely and quality-focused manufacturing.

The role will be responsible for coordinating production on the factory floor monitoring output and machine utilisation controlling material wastage and ensuring that production targets and customer specifications are consistently achieved.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in corrugated packaging carton manufacturing paper converting printing or a related manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day production activities and ensure production targets are achieved within set timelines.
• Coordinate production processes including corrugation printing die-cutting folding gluing stitching and finishing as applicable.
• Allocate manpower and production tasks based on daily production requirements.
• Monitor production output machine utilisation downtime rejects rework and wastage.
• Ensure customer orders are produced according to approved specifications quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Identify production bottlenecks and operational issues and take timely corrective action.
• Work closely with the Maintenance team to minimise machine breakdowns and production downtime.
• Monitor raw material usage and implement measures to minimise wastage.
• Conduct routine quality checks and ensure production meets required specifications.
• Supervise production operators monitor attendance and productivity and enforce workplace procedures and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate production records and prepare daily production reports for the Operations Manager.
• Coordinate with Stores Quality Control Maintenance and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Ensure proper housekeeping material handling and safety standards are maintained across the production floor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity quality efficiency and cost control.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Production Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Operations Management or a related field.
• 35 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Previous experience supervising production teams is required.
• Experience in corrugated packaging carton manufacturing paper converting printing or a related packaging environment is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of production planning machine utilisation quality control and material management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel is an added advantage.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
