Maintenance Head Luxury Safari Travel Company Kenya

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly capable Maintenance Head to join a luxury safari travel company in Kenya. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional with strong leadership abilities and a practical hands-on approach to maintenance and facilities management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall maintenance and upkeep of facilities equipment and operational infrastructure.

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

  • Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential issues.

  • Ensure all facilities machinery and equipment remain safe functional and well maintained.

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance projects with internal teams and external contractors.

  • Monitor maintenance-related stock tools equipment and spare parts.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities repairs and scheduled servicing.

  • Assist with budgeting and controlling maintenance-related costs.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health safety and operational standards.

  • Respond efficiently to urgent maintenance issues and minimise operational disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a senior maintenance or technical management role.

  • Strong practical knowledge of general maintenance repairs and facilities management.

  • Experience managing and supervising a maintenance team.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of maintenance operations.

  • High attention to detail and strong preventative maintenance focus.

  • Experience within a luxury hospitality safari or remote property environment will be advantageous.

  • Ability to work in a hands-on capacity and respond effectively to operational requirements.
