Job Summary

AMI is looking for an ambitious and talented Finance Officer with donor funded experience to support the financial management compliance and operational integrity of the CAYACC Programme. Sitting at the intersection of finance and programme delivery you will be the financial backbone of a high-impact AGRA-funded initiative supporting climate-smart agriculture and youth engagement across multiple African countries. You will own day-to-day financial operations ensure rigorous donor compliance and provide the financial discipline and reporting rigour that allows the programme team to focus on delivering real change on the ground.

Responsibilities

Financial management & controls

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping reconciliations and expense tracking.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times.

  • Implement and monitor internal controls and compliance processes.

  • Support procurement and contracting processes with the necessary financial checks.

Budgeting & reporting

  • Support development of budgets forecasts and financial projections.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports variance analyses and cashflow tracking.

  • Ensure timely and accurate donor financial reporting.

Grants & donor compliance

  • Track grant expenditure against approved budgets and flag variances early.

  • Ensure compliance with donor rules reporting timelines and allowable costs.

  • Support proposal budgeting and cost narrative development.

Audit & risk management

  • Support audit processes and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

  • Maintain financial risk registers and support fraud prevention measures.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with programme teams to align budgets with workplans.

  • Support coordination between finance and programme delivery for compliance and reporting


Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management preferably in an NGO or donor-funded environment.

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting financial reporting internal controls and donor compliance requirements.

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.

  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA partial or complete).

  • Experience working in multi-country or network-based programs.

  • Experience with grant management and audit processes.

  • Exposure to youth climate agriculture or international development programs.




Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or a related field Minimum of 4 years experience in business development strategic partnerships or B2B/enterprise sales Proven experience operating in fast-paced high-growth or entrepreneurial environments Demonstrated experience in B2B business development with a strong track record of driving revenue growth Proven ability to engage influence and sell to senior stakeholders including CEOs and executive leadership teams Track record of successfully closing mid- to high-value deals (USD 7800) Strong client relationship management experience with the ability to build and sustain long-term partnerships High level of commercial acumen including pipeline management opportunity prioritization and deal structuring Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive results Strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth and impact across Africa
