2. JOB DIMENSIONS:

3. JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Boiler Operator reports to the Lead Cogen. The Boiler Operator handles and maintains heating systems and work with various types of boiler with different/various types of fuels
related with various equipment such as steam boilers or water heating systems or heat recovery or condensation recovery with various application of various plant etc. with low high pressure with low high temperature. Job duties include performing routine maintenance testing boiler water ensuring safety guidelines are met updating records and solving basic technical issues.
The position holder shall demonstrate manual dexterity attention to safety mechanical expertise and good communication skills.
4. DETAILED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operate Low / high pressure boilers including starting and shutting down.
2. Monitor boiler operations and react to varying load requirements.
3. Perform constant visual checks read gauges and manipulate controls.
4. Assure that various meter readings of pressure and temperature are recorded.
5. Inspect boiler pipes valves pumps and safety devices for leaks and malfunctions.
6. Periodically inspect and adjust control mechanisms.
7. Blow down boiler when conductive solids and impurities exceed specified limits; test high and low pressure safety controls.
8. May supervise daily maintenance on boilers including oil and greasing of stokers fans motors hydraulic / Pneumatic Various type of Valves operation Pressure Switch Safety
Valves etc. If any and other operating mechanisms.
9. Observe fire and safety precautions.
10. May be responsible for chemical makeup of water testing of water qualities and checking viscosity of oil including:
Adding chemicals to condition boiler water.
Maintaining a chemical balance in boiler water according to prescribed procedures.
Performing conductivity alkalinity phosphate silica sulphate and other hardness tests.
Adding chemicals to boilers needed to maintain a good chemical balance.
11. May order gas and oil deliveries.
12. Prepare and maintain records on treatment oil gas chemicals consumption TDS PPM PH and steam and hot water production with respect quality of fuel water etc.
13. Cooperate and work with State and other inspectors as required.
14. May perform general maintenance duties requiring skills in plumbing painting or mechanical trades.
15. May investigate and take corrective action for emergency repairs with respect to safety.
5. ACCOUNTIBILITIES:
Operate respective production related plants/machines/equipment of respective department.
Perform routine maintenance of related plants/machines/equipment of respective department to maintain from safety with smooth operation.
Conduct inspections of related plants/machines/equipment of respective department

7. QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering- Plant or Production Options
8. EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience in a similar role
Outstanding experience and expertise in maintenance and installation work on boiler and equipment.

Knowledge of PM CM EMERGENCY etc. type of maintenance with require record for reporting at various level of management will require by Team Leader Engineering.
