ACCOUNTANT
Job Summary
Uliza Group is looking for an experienced highly organised and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in accounting invoicing stock reconciliation and financial record management. The candidate must be able to work independently maintain accurate records and ensure proper financial and stock controls across the business.
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and process invoices quotations and other financial documents.
- Record and reconcile payments and receipts.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with preparation of financial reports and management accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly supported and documented.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and controls.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate stock records and regularly reconcile physical stock against system records.
- Review and verify stock movements receipts dispatches and adjustments.
- Review and approve stock transfer requests before stock is moved between locations.
- Verify that stock transfers are properly documented and recorded in the system.
- Investigate and report stock variances discrepancies and unexplained losses.
- Work closely with the warehouse and operations teams to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and support timely stock replenishment.
- Ensure all stock movements are properly authorised and supported by documentation.
Invoicing & Quotations
- Prepare and review customer quotations and invoices.
- Ensure invoices accurately reflect approved quotations orders and delivered products/services.
- Verify pricing quantities discounts and payment terms before invoices are issued.
- Maintain proper filing of quotations invoices receipts and supporting documents.
- Prepare and file monthly statutory tax returns accurately and within the required deadlines.
- Prepare and coordinate annual/yearly tax and statutory returns.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for all statutory filings.
- Monitor statutory payment and filing deadlines to ensure the company remains compliant.
- Reconcile tax accounts and identify any discrepancies before submission.
- Liaise with relevant authorities where necessary regarding tax filings assessments or compliance matters.
- Ensure the company maintains proper documentation for audits and statutory reviews.
- 25 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proven experience in invoicing quotations and payment reconciliation.
- Experience managing or reconciling stock and inventory records.
- Experience reviewing and approving stock transfers and stock movements.
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills.
- Experience using accounting or inventory management systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution.
- Honest reliable and trustworthy.
- Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with other departments.
We are looking for someone who is experienced and hands-on not someone who will require extensive training on basic accounting functions.
The successful candidate should be able to take ownership of accounting records invoicing stock reconciliation and financial controls while working closely with the Operations Sales and Warehouse teams.
