About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager the Site Drilling Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management of drilling operations ensuring projects are delivered safely efficiently on schedule and within budget.
The successful candidate will provide leadership across all operational technical commercial and safety aspects of the project while maintaining strong client relationships and driving continuous operational improvement.

Operational Management
- Lead and manage all daily drilling operations across the project.
- Ensure drilling programs are completed safely efficiently and in accordance with client requirements.
- Monitor drilling productivity equipment utilisation and operational performance.
- Coordinate drilling schedules personnel equipment and logistics.
- Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Ensure drilling activities comply with company procedures and contractual requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the site.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety meetings inspections and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure environmental compliance throughout drilling operations.
- Lead mentor and develop supervisors drillers and support personnel.
- Build a high-performance accountable and safety-focused team culture.
- Manage workforce planning rosters and site resources.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development opportunities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Provide regular operational reports KPI updates and project performance summaries.
- Participate in client meetings and planning discussions.
- Ensure client expectations are consistently achieved or exceeded.
- Manage site operating budgets and control project costs.
- Monitor project profitability and resource utilisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support commercial reporting and contract performance requirements.
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
- Minimum 10 years experience in drilling operations within the mining industry.
- Previous experience as a Site Manager Drilling Manager Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong operational knowledge of mineral exploration drilling including RC and diamond drilling programs.
- Experience managing multiple drilling rigs and site personnel.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of HSE management systems and best practices.
- Experience managing operational budgets project costs and resource planning.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving planning and organisational abilities.
- Experience working on remote international mining projects will be highly regarded.
