Underwriter (Property & Casualty)

We are currently looking for an Underwriter for one of our clients in the insurance and surety solutions industry.

What is in it for you:

Annual salary of $80.000 to $100.000 based on experience.
Bonus: Targeted at 25% based on company performance.
Permanent and fulltime role (37.50 hours per week).
Hybrid role: 2 days a week in the office (daytime schedule).
Generous Time Off: 3 weeks of vacation.

4% match on contributions made to the RRSP plan.

Responsibilities:

Represent our Property & Casualty team across Canada with a centralized underwriting approach.
Market and source new business opportunities.
Partner with underwriters from other lines of business to identify crosssell opportunities.
Manage and build a portfolio of property and casualty accounts.
Establish and maintain broker relationships.
Evaluate exposures and determine appropriate terms and conditions of coverage.
Learn new product lines and coverages as they develop.
Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered.
Occasionally travel within Canada.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelor s degree or postsecondary education in business communication marketing or insurance preferred.
2 years of experience within property and casualty insurance.
Actively pursuing a CIP designation.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint).
