Title: Machine Learning Scientist (Contractor)

Foster City CA
Onsite 3 days/week minimum

We are looking for a highly skilled machine learning expert to join our data science team within Client PDM (Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing) organization. We want a passionate team player who is about machine learning and is updated with the algorithms and technology in this field.

The candidate will be involved in all processes from data collection cleansing preprocessing creating training models testing models evaluating and interpreting models finetuning models making predictions sharing insights.


Responsibilities

Understand business objectives and develop machine learning models that help to achieve them along with metrics to track the progress
Analyze various machine learning algorithms that could be used to solve a given problem and rank them by their success probability
Explore and visualize the data to gain an understanding of it then identify differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world
Perform data mining and extract useful data from various data sources
Define data preprocessing and feature engineering to be done on a given dataset including both structured and unstructured data
Define data augmentation pipeline
Analyze large amount of data to find patterns insights and solutions
Develop machine learning models to select features create and optimize classifiers
Develop machine learning models to provide predictive capabilities
Analyze the errors of the model and design strategies to overcome them
Collaborate with other data scientists and software developers to deploy and operationalize machine learning models
Present results within data science team and with business stakeholders


Required Skills and Experiences

Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and methodologies
At least 5 years handson experience building machine learning models
Solid coding skills in Python
Strong proficiency with Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as scikitlearn
Strong proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or Keras
Expertise in visualizing and manipulating big datasets
Collaboration experiences with software engineers


Nice to have

Working experiences in Pharma industry
Working experiences in a matrix organization
Education

BS or MS degree in computer science electrical engineering chemical engineering mechanical engineering or demonstrate similar skills while holding a related engineering degree
