This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager for a 12-month contract who will be responsible for planning and managing one and/or several IT projects, of varying complexity, priority and risk that focus on the design and development of automated business solutions. Projects may span two or more divisions, rely on new technologies, possess large capital budgets, or have significant impact on the Information Technology infrastructure. Projects may also be critical to maintaining market-share or shareholder confidence and value, while delivering cost-effective and architecturally compatible information system solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitating cross-functional and cross-organizational team members in a matrix-managed environment.
  

• Project communications, project scheduling and financial management, issue and risk tracking, and change management activities.
  

• Applying business and technical knowledge to initiate corrective actions, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverables are produced on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  

• Using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  

• Some barriers to entry exist at this level (i.e., dept/peer review).
  

• Creating and reviewing project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  

• Manage backups, security and user help systems.
  

• Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
  

• Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
  

• Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
  

• Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  

• Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
  

• Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  

• Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  

• Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  

• Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
  

• Direct, review and approve product designs and changes.
  

• Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
  

Requirements

The selected applicant will have the following experience:

• Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.

• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

• Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc.
