Position Overview: As a Tax Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the US and Canadian tax compliance and reporting processes. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the tax laws and regulations in both jurisdictions ensuring the companys adherence to all relevant tax requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial success of the organization while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee US and Canadian tax compliance reporting and filing processes.
  2. Provide expert guidance on complex tax issues ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Conduct detailed tax research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in tax laws and update internal stakeholders accordingly.
  4. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organizations tax position.
  5. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including finance and legal to ensure coordinated efforts in meeting tax objectives.
  6. Prepare and review tax provisions financial statements and related disclosures.
  7. Liaise with external tax advisors auditors and government authorities as required.


Requirements

  1. Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA designation is highly preferred.
  2. 5 years of progressive experience in tax with a focus on both US and Canadian taxation.
  3. Knowledge of current Canadian tax laws and regulations US experience is a plus but not required.
  4. Experience in financial services or related industries is an asset.
  5. Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
