System Administrator

Sierra has been engaged by a boutique MSP that services small/midsized companies in the Chicago area. You would join a dynamic team of IT five other SAs playing a critical role in maintaining and optimizing client IT infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on remote support you will utilize your technical expertise to address and resolve a wide range of IT issues efficiently and effectively. While most of your work will be done remotely you will be onsite 1 day per week in their Lombard office with occasional client site location visits within 30 minutes of your home base.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive technical support to a portfolio of retained clients ensuring timely section of IT issues and minimizing downtime.
• Proactively monitor and maintain IT systems including server networks and other infrastructure components to optimize performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware software and networking utilizing a systematic approach and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business requirements and recommend tailored IT solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as systems updates patches and backups to ensure the security and stability of clients IT environments.
• Document all support activities solutions and configurations accurately and comprehensively maintaining detailed records for future reference.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role preferably in an MSP environment.
• Strong proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments including AD Exchange and virtualization technologies like VMware HyperV
• Solid understanding of networking concepts protocols and technologies such as TCIP/IP DNC DHCP VPN and VLAN
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS Asure) and cloudbased services (e.g. Office 365 G Suite).
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a customercentric mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
