Background/Need

A System Administrator is needed in Group 66 Advanced Lasercom Systems and Operations to support the development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies. The Group addresses the needs of nextgeneration airborne and terrestrial networks using its core expertise in fiber and freespace optics network protocols and services information operations and communications processing. Group 66 is extensively involved in field experimentation and measurement campaigns to verify algorithms and architectural concepts in operational environments.

Major Responsibilities:

Looking for a Linux Systems Administrator with approximately 5 years of Linux administration experience (slightly more junior or senior is acceptable)
Domains: IT Infrastructure Networking system architecture design system configuration management system troubleshooting and database management.
Responsible for management administration and support of all Lab IT systems infrastructure in Group.
Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the Group and/or Laboratory.
Responsible for vulnerability remediation on secure and unclassified Laboratory systems. Addressing Cat 1 2 3 issues in a timely manner
Recognizing and troubleshooting issues with developers machines as they occur across a variety of Operating Systems. Windows Linux Mac OS etc.
Perform all related duties as assigned.

• Experience with Linux command line.
• Experience with Linux network configuration.
• Experience with Linux server/workstation administration.
• Experience with Scripting Languages: Perl Python Shell Scripting Powershell.
• Redhat Linux Systems Administration.
• Experience with Technologies including DNS DHCP Proxy and Load Balancing.
• Virtualization Technologies (VMware including ESXi and VCenter configuration).

• Bachelors Degree.
• Hardening Linux and Windows systems per RMF and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides.
• Ansible Automation Platform to Support Linux systems.
• Administering classified Linux systems.
• Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities.
• Enterprise Backup Solutions.
• Macintosh and iOS platform(s).
• MS Active Directory LDAP.
• Linux RealTime Kernel support experience is a bonus.
• Experience managing classified IT systems STIGs SCAPS RMFThis experience is HIGHLY preferred.
• Certification(s) in one or more of the following disciplines: Solaris administration Red Hat VMWare Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); CompTIA Security; Linux Professional Institute Certification.
