Surgical Team Intern mdf -Paris France

We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented intern to join our dynamic team in the surgical environment for a 6 months internship. As a Surgical Team Intern you will play a crucial role in analyzing the needs of surgical teams conducting user research assisting with video collection and analysis streamlining processes and supporting machine learning initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in the healthcare technology sector and contribute directly to improving patient care and safety.

Tasks

Analyzing Surgical Team Needs to:

• Conduct onsite observations and interviews with clinical users in the operating room (OR) to identify needs during team timeouts and other patient safetyrelated features.
• Compile detailed reports summarizing findings and insights gathered from interviews to facilitate development teams in addressing user requirements effectively.

User Research and Analysis:

• Utilize user research software platforms to analyze the market and understand the diverse needs of different user personas within the surgical domain.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on user analysis highlighting key trends pain points and opportunities for product improvement.

Assisting Surgical Teams:

• Aid surgical teams onsite in collecting surgical videos and uploading them to various Caresyntax platforms for further analysis and documentation.
• Provide support to Caresyntax users in navigating and utilizing the platform effectively to enhance surgical workflow and efficiency.

Streamlining OR Assessment Processes:

• Streamline the process of conducting OR assessments by documenting interview questions refining reporting templates and documenting the entire assessment process for future reference and optimization.

Supporting Machine Learning Initiatives:

• Collaborate with machine learning teams to manage edit and annotate surgical videos and other documentation for the implementation of machinelearning models aimed at improving surgical outcomes.
• Optional: Work closely with videographers and photoeditors to assist in the creation of product and marketing Caresyntax videos if interested and applicable.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in healthcare administration biomedical engineering computer science or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse clinical users and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in conducting user research and analyzing data using software platforms.
• Familiarity with healthcare technology surgical procedures and patient safety practices is a plus.
• Experience with video editing software and machine learning concepts is desirable but not required.
• Ability to work independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fastpaced environment.
• Ability to travel within France and German on a per need basis
• The candidate may occasionally need to scrub into the OR during surgery to engage in interviews with the surgical teams
• Fluency in French is required knowledge of German is a plus
