Job Summary:
  • Seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team as a Supervising Psychiatrist for the adolescent units located within our stateoftheart inpatient psychiatric hospital in Indianapolis IN.
  • The 159bed facility provides evaluation and treatment for patients with complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric illness and high acuity needs through intermediate to longterm hospitalization.
  • Patients are provided with evidencebased and holistic care in order to facilitate their transition to the most appropriate and leastrestrictive treatment setting.
  • The Supervising Psychiatrist will be responsible for completing clinical and administrative supervisory duties required for midlevel providers as well as provide clinical expertise and care for complex patients.
Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
Physician shall supervise both PMHNPs assigned to the adolescent units in accordance with applicable law and the policies and procedures of the Company and the Hospital. Such supervisory services shall include but not be limited to the following:
  • Providing appropriate practitioner oversight and supervision of the adolescent units.
  • Providing inperson supervisory services at the Hospital at least once a week.
  • Performing weekly medical record review (including prescribed medications) of at least 5% of adolescent patients assigned to each PMHNP.
  • Remain available for clinical questions from Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants during all clinical hours.
  • Cosignature of admissions and discharges
  • Review and consultation of new medications and diagnosis
  • Ability to perform clinical assessments of complex patients and enter orders on patients as necessary to support optimal care
  • Provide constructive feedback to providers to support their professional development and adherence to best practices.
  • Remaining knowledgeable of organization protocols policies and procedures.
  • Other duties responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an Approved School of Medicine
  • Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Preferred)
  • Hold valid Indiana medical licensure that is current and in good standing.
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
