Structural Engineering Support Specialist

We are seeking a qualified individual to provide structural engineering support for Fabrication/Production within our organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to structural fabrication ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and Maintain Documentation: Create and update shop drawing crossreference reports including drawing registers and shop marking references to facilitate efficient fabrication processes.
• Detailed Engineering: Conduct detailed engineering assessments including reviewing Approved for Construction (AFC) documents and assigning shop drawings to draftsmen.
• Quality Control: Perform engineering content checks on structural fabrication shop drawings ensuring they conform to AFC specifications regarding materials dimensions and specifications.
• Coordination: Collaborate with other disciplines such as piping and electrical & instrumentation (E&I) during the preparation of fabrication shop drawings to ensure alignment and coordination across all project components.
• Construction Engineering: Oversee the fabrication process including the preparation of cutting plans and lists joint weld maps welding history sheets and other documentation required for fabrication and production.
• Revision and AsBuilt Documentation: Revise shop drawings as per site instructions (SI) requirements and maintain accurate records for asbuilt fabrication documentation.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Higher Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Civil and Structural Piping or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in structural steel fabrication drawing preparation or checking preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Xsteel AutoPlant and familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) is required.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously review and assess engineering drawings and documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership qualities to effectively oversee fabrication processes and ensure project success.
