As the Strategic Risk Advisory Business Development lead you oversee the Enterprise risk manager practice. You will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion within our ERM practice. You will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities fostering strategic partnerships and expanding our client base across various industries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the ERM market segment. This includes prospecting lead generation and nurturing client relationships project execution.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to upsell additional services and solutions. Understand client needs and objectives to provide tailored ERM solutions that address their specific challenges.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends competitive threats and potential areas for growth within the ERM landscape. Use insights to inform strategic decisionmaking and business development efforts.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals presentations and pitches that effectively communicate our value proposition and differentiate us from competitors.
  • Networking and Events: Represent AON at industry conferences networking events and trade shows to showcase our ERM expertise and expand our professional network. Build relationships with key stakeholders and influencers to enhance our visibility and reputation within the market.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust sales pipeline track sales activity and report on progress towards revenue targets. Utilize CRM tools and systems to manage leads opportunities and client interactions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams including sales marketing product development and operations to align business development efforts with overall company objectives and priorities.

Execution

Strategy Design

  • Participate in corporate business and strategy formulation assess the underlying risks of the corporate strategy and conduct riskbased effective challenge of strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the Risk Appetite framework including the development of Risk Appetite metrics measurement monitoring and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of emerging risks and trends within geographies and industries of business interest and ensure Aon Client s strategy is well adapted.

Capital Management

  • Responsible for the management growth and operations of a growing book of business be aware and capable of developing economic capital framework (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process) and ownership of related policies guidelines and standards.
  • Lead the internal capital target setting process and internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP) as well as the development and management of capital management standards/guidelines and standards.
  • Develop and oversee riskbased performance management and pricing methodologies for clients.
  • Work closely with the lines of business to develop capitalbased tools or allocations to enhance business decision making at the transaction and portfolio level.

Models and Limits

  • Advance the thinking on the quantification of operational and strategic risks and other nonfinancial risks as required.
  • Work with Model Governance to ensure that a strong governance framework is in place to manage the endtoend lifecycle for all risk models.
  • Ensure the integrity of quantifying risk exposure relative to limits and updating the limits framework for clients within portfolio.

Stress Testing Climate Scenario Analysis
  • Lead sales and execution of client s enterprisewide stress testing for financial and nonfinancial risks.
  • Lead sales and execution of climate scenarios exercise in line with Task Force on Climate Disclosures (TCFD) and other regulatory guidance.
  • Lead the discussion on insights from the stress testing and climate scenario work to ensure that actions are pursued by the relevant accountable party (typically CRSO CFO or COO).
  • Oversee a centralized portfolio analytics function to provide a view of portfolio risk under various scenarios to support business strategy.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Oversee and mature the enterprise risk management function.
  • Develop and monitor enterprise risk framework policies standards and guidelines reporting on and monitoring Aon Client s strategic and operational risks.
  • Provide specialized advice and support actions to independently oversee challenge and remediate risk findings from quality assurance activities.
  • Responsible for enterprisewide risk reporting and monitoring function.
  • Actively monitor risk profile across all risk types and business lines.
  • Continue maturing the emerging risks program.

Governance

  • Responsible for developing and monitoring risk policies standards and guidelines related to strategic operational and financial risks within the risk governance framework.
  • Oversee the Risk Appetite framework including metrics definition measurement monitoring and reporting and ongoing evolution to stay current with emerging risks.
  • Further develop second line functionality (oversight) ensuring clear roles and responsibilities between first and second lines appropriate tools and reporting.
  • Support the CRSO in managing key risk committees including the Management Risk Management Committee and the Board Risk Management Committee.

Leadership

  • Excellent leadership skills demonstrated through providing sound guidance and coaching to other leaders positively influencing organizational culture and high integrity.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills and the ability to hold others accountable without direct authority.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex subject matter clearly at all levels of the organization up to the Board.
  • Ability to present ideas in a clear succinct and organized manner.
  • Ability to proactively identify creative solutions for taking on and managing risk that support the enterprise strategy and enable the business to develop differentiated value propositions.
  • Technically strong with numeracy and financial awareness yet able to see the bigger picture and not get stuck in the details.
  • A growth mindset and the ability to build sustain and improve enterprise risk practices.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in business administration Marketing Finance or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in business development sales or account management with a focus on enterprise risk management or related services.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities anticipate market trends and develop actionable plans to drive business growth.
  • Selfmotivated resultsoriented individual with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business tools.
