Staff Applications Engineer

Overview

As a Staff Applications Engineer you will be part of onsemi Intelligent Sensing Group, Commercial Solutions Division which provides imaging solutions for commercial, light industrial, robotics and consumer products. In joining the world-class CMOS image sensor development team, you will help integrate, test and demonstrate advanced sensor features and help improve or develop new features.

Responsibilities

• Validate, integrate and tune novel sensor features with the host processor (real time ISP and/or SOC).
• Work closely with imaging hardware and firmware developers, customers and Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) to optimize in-system image sensor performance.
• Help preparing compelling feature demonstration material to help spark new customer interest.
• Suggest improvements to existing features or propose new features that will help differentiate onsemi products.
• Work with Marketing and Design teams to evaluate the merit of improvements & features.
• Prepare proof-of-concept design (ISP, SOC or FPGA) for new features or improvements.

Requirements

• A Bachelors degree in Electronic, Computer Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Fluent in embedded C and Python.
• Solid digital and analog circuits debugging skills.
• Self-starter, team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and pride in development of high-quality products, but also capable of providing quick solution when necessary to keep the wheels moving.

Highly Desired

• Experience with CMOS image sensor integration.
• Design and/or debugging experience of embedded hardware and/or software particularly in camera or other imaging systems.
• Knowledge of image processing and camera control algorithms.
