JOB TITLE: Sr. Network Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr Network Engineer s primary responsibilities include configuration, maintenance and troubleshoot devices and applications in multi-vendor environments consisting of routers, switches, firewalls, access points, & VPN solutions and ensuring appropriate availability of services, also known as uptime.

Job Description:

The primary objective of the role of Sr Network Engineer is an engineering and enabling role. It looks at current operational practices, develops and enhances existing practices for both BAU and Projects for the infrastructure platform. The Sr Network Engineer works within the team of skilled Network engineers to implement new services, maintain existing services, and ensure that the environment runs in an optimal and efficient manner.

Responsibilities and technical skills include but are not limited to:

• LAN/WAN design, setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  

• Routing protocols OSPF, BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP, MPLS, PPP, ATM, T1/T2 Frame Relay, and familiar with traffic routes, Floating Static Routes, route-maps, and access-list
  

• WAN technologies like ACL, NAT, and PAT
  

• Intrusion detection, DMZ, encryption and proxy services, Site to Site VPN tunnels, MPLS/VPN, and SSL/VPN
  

• Networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, and Quality of Service (QoS)
  

• L2/L3 protocols like VLANs, STP, VTP, MPLS and trunking
  

• Windows client/server operating systems, networking technologies and firewalls
  

• Access control server configuration for RADIUS & TACACS+
  

• Network monitoring/management tools such as Wireshark, TCPdump, Cisco Prime, Netflow, PRGT, and Solarwinds
  

• Resolve the problems within the SLA
  

• Responsible for troubleshooting incidents and working towards the resolution
  

• Prompt and effective communication to customers
  

• Coordinate with the technical team of the internal and external members
  

• Provide knowledge transfer to the team members
  

• Open to work in 24x7 support environment (Rotational Shifts)
  

• Works with cross-functional teams to proactively address support issues/queries
  

• Create and managing SOPs
  

• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  

Requirements

Key Skills and Job Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in providing technical support in network operations
  

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area
  

• 4 - 7 years of experience with network administration or network operations engineer.
  

• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
  

• CCNA or CCNP or Higher (CCIE/CISSP) or Juniper certifications
  

• Solid understanding of OSI or TCP/IP Model
  

• On Premises and Colocation data center experience
  

• Experience in mixed operating system environments
  

• Experience with Virtualization including VDI
