We specialize in providing highquality rehabilitation services in skilled nursing and assisted living centers. We operate with a network of over 150 therapists throughout Michigan. Were thrilled to invite an exceptional Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in an exceptional subacute care facility. Our mission of this program is to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients through compassionate and effective rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the speech language communication and swallowing abilities of geriatric patients.

  1. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings considering the unique needs and goals of each patient.

  1. Speech and Language Therapy: Provide therapy to improve or rehabilitate speech and language skills addressing issues such as aphasia dysarthria or voice disorders.

  1. Swallowing Therapy: Work with patients who may have difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) to improve their safety and ability to eat and drink.

  1. CognitiveCommunication Therapy: Address cognitivecommunication disorders helping patients with memory attention and problemsolving skills related to communication.

  1. Adaptive Communication: Introduce and train patients on alternative communication methods or devices if needed.

  1. Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including physicians nurses and occupational therapists to ensure comprehensive care for geriatric patients.

  1. Education and Counseling: Educate patients family members and caregivers on communication strategies and provide emotional support.

  1. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of assessments treatment plans and progress notes in accordance with healthcare regulations.

  1. Advocacy: Advocate for the communication needs of geriatric patients within the healthcare system ensuring they receive appropriate and effective care.

  1. Stay Informed: Keep uptodate with advancements in speechlanguage pathology and geriatric care attending relevant workshops or training sessions.

  1. Patient and Family Support: Offer guidance and support to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
