Software Product Engineer

Were looking for our first Software Product Engineer to help build our mobile app for iOS and Android.

This role will be key in shaping our approach to building and delivering a worldclass mobile app that places user experience front and centre while seamlessly integrating with the rest of our product.

Our primary development stack is based on Go Typescript with React Native and Postgres with a typed autogenerated client between the API to help us ship quickly. We rely on Sentry for error reporting Grafana Prometheus for our metrics dashboards and alerts and Kibana for logging. We use CircleCI for automated testing and deployment.

We bias strongly towards buying tools rather than building them and invest heavily in a few vs having 20 ways to solve the same problems.

Duties:

• Setting the bar for how we build and deliver beautiful useable and highly reliable mobile software together with other engineers.
• Working across our stack to leverage or build upon our existing codebase in order to create support and maintain mobile app functionality
• Keeping things simple favouring elegant and straightforward solutions over unnecessary complexity
• Optimising for an exceptional user experience by focusing on usability accessibility and performance
• Collaborating closely with colleagues and customers to validate gather feedback and iterate over your work leveraging a hightrust environment that enables you to work with full autonomy

This role could be ideal for you if you:

• Have a track record of building and shipping iOS and Android apps using React Native that have been used by a large number of users.
• Have production experience working with any programming language such as: Go Python Ruby on Rails or React and are used to working across a tech stack.
• Care deeply about user experience and enjoy speaking directly with customers to understand their problems prioritising outcomes and impact over exact implementation or tools.
• Are happy to share your work early whether its a draft of a proposal or the MVP of a customerfacing feature. Youre willing to put something out there when its 70% done.
• Thrive in the face of ambiguity both technically and organisationally and are more than willing to tackle problems that dont always have a clear definition or solution.
