Job Title: Software Engineer Architect

Location: Benton Harbor MI Onsite

Job Description:

• The Software Architect/Lead is a role within the Software Engineering team under the Global Product Organization to lead our cooking product software solutions and make an impact in delivering rich consumer experience at home. The Software Engineering team designs develops or coordinates development/ troubleshooting or debugging of appliance software programs for enhancements and new products. The responsibilities include ability to work in a matrix organization (i.e. Engineering Marketing UX IoT App Cloud and embedded systems) to deliver software and next generation home appliance products. The candidate will need to be onsite at Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor MI.

Responsibilities will include:

• Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership guidance and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team of embedded systems developers ensuring the successful execution of complex projects.
• Architecture and Design: Lead the architectural design and development of advanced embedded software systems including both frontend and backend components. Define and drive the software architecture strategy.
• Full Stack Development: Oversee and actively participate in full stack development for embedded systems encompassing hardware interaction lowlevel programming and user interface design.

Technical Problem Solving: Lead efforts to identify troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges. Make critical decisions to maintain project timelines and deliverables.

• Code Quality Assurance: Set and enforce coding standards and best practices. Review and evaluate code contributions from team members ensuring code quality efficiency and maintainability.

• Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project managers to define project scope schedules and resource requirements. Drive project planning execution and successful delivery.
• Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee the testing and quality assurance process to ensure the reliability and compliance of embedded software with industry standards.
• Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of technical designs architecture decisions processes and project status updates.
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders providing regular project updates addressing technical inquiries and managing expectations.
• Innovation and Research: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends in embedded systems. Drive innovation by proposing and implementing advanced solutions. Minimum requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical/ Electronics Engineering or a related field
• 15 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on embedded systems
• Strong coding skills in C/C Javascript Python with extensive expertise in end to end software development for embedded systems
• Expertise in Embedded Operating Systems (i.e. RTOS Linux Zephyr)

Preferred skills and experiences: Masters degree

• Proven experience with hardware interaction lowlevel programming and embedded systems design
• Exceptional problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
• Proficiency in embedded systems development tools methodologies and industry standards
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Embedded Systems Full Stack Development)
• IoT experience
