Software Asset Management Consultant

We are currently looking for a Software Asset Management Consultant for one of our clients in the mining and metal industry.

What is in it for you:

Hourly salary of $80 to $100 based on experience.
1 to 2year contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Hybrid work: 2 days per week in the office.
Possibility of travel within the Atlantic region

Responsibilities:

Software Licensing and Advisory:

Provide subject matter expertise for license requirements best practice procurement and ongoing license lifecycle management.
Conduct complex software licensing compliance reviews engaging numerous stakeholders.
Identify significant risks propose suitable resolutions and take required action.
Create structure and controls for data management such as data held within SharePoint/SAM (Software Asset Management) toolset.
Identify and resolve ongoing problematic licensing issues with innovative ideally automated solutions utilizing available tools such as Power BI Power Automate and Forms.
Actively participate in identifying optimization opportunities in software agreements with Business Partners.
Actively participate and where required provide leadership and management during software publisher audits.
Formulate a strategy for obtaining license entitlements and maintaining an uptodate library.

Process Improvement and Management:

Identify and create processes for the SAM team to follow aiming to reduce queries resolve issues faster improve customer service and enhance understanding of compliance position with a focus on continual improvement.
Monitor adherence to processes and refine or reeducate as required.
Create a catalog of templates and standards for the team to utilize.

Software Asset Register (Tool) Management:

Create and monitor data quality standards within the SAM toolset to ensure repeatable and trustworthy reporting.
Resolve complex licensing issues within the toolset.
Engage with SAM toolset provider to ensure effective utilization.
Work with technical resources to accurately identify specialist software applications for recognition and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Coach and provide advice to stakeholders and support internal teams including IT Procurement Finance and Legal to educate on optimal software usage and procurement options.

Direction and Leadership:

Provide guidance and training for new or lessexperienced team members.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelors degree related to the position.
3 years of experience in software management procurement.
Knowledge of SharePoint/SAM (Software Asset Management).
Proficiency in PowerBI Power Automate and Forms.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
