Senior Operations Accountant

Position Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Senior Operations Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Senior Operations Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions related to operations ensuring efficiency accuracy and compliance. This role will play a critical part in optimizing processes analyzing operational data and providing strategic insights to drive performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Operations Management:
   • Oversee daytoday accounting operations related to inventory cost of goods sold (COGS) and production activities.
   • Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions including inventory movements manufacturing costs and workinprogress.
   • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
2. Inventory Management:
   • Manage inventory accounting processes including valuation reconciliation and cycle counting.
   • Monitor inventory levels and analyze variances to identify trends and areas for improvement.
   • Work closely with operations teams to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
3. Cost Analysis and Reporting:
   • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to budget and standard costs.
   • Prepare regular cost reports and provide insights on cost drivers and operational performance.
   • Develop and maintain cost models to support decisionmaking processes.
4. Process Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls related to operations.
   • Implement best practices and standardize procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
   • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
5. Financial Analysis and Planning:
   • Conduct financial analysis to support operational decisionmaking and strategic planning.
   • Assist in the development of operational budgets and forecasts.
   • Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize resource allocation and improve profitability.
6. Compliance and Audit:
   • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards regulations and internal policies.
   • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
   • Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate risks and safeguard assets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• 5 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on operations accounting preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and cost analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate crossfunctionally.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
