Tasks

• Creating and productizing services to make available machine learning technologies from our Research team.
• Applying software development skills machine learning and data science knowledge to improve our machine learning and record publication capabilities to extract data from historical records.
• Helping build the future of machine learning tools and services to support the purpose of FamilySearch.
• Utilizing data science in machine learning to improve overall extraction of information from historical records.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• English proficiency minimun B2.
• Solid Java and Python programming skills
• Combination of 7 years of software development and machine learning experience.
• Hands on experience in using software development data science and machine learning to extract structured information from historical document images. Must have utilized all three machine learning data science and software development.
• Experience in performing root cause analysis to identify large patterns in extracted
• Use of essential Linux data manipulation tools like sed grep sort regexes etc.
• Familiarity with common Machine Learning frameworks including TensorFlow and Keras
• Understanding of theory and mechanics of deep learning techniques
