Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Job Location: Nairobi Kenya

Overall Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the overall financial affairs of the Society including financial reporting cash flow management and developing strategies based on financial research and guiding CEO and the Central Management Committee in making sound financial business decisions in the long and short term

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop financial policies and strategies.

2. Ensure accurate management reports.

3. Identify areas for financial improvement.

4. Minimize financial risk through robust internal controls.

5. Research and analyze financial trends.

6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards.

7. Present financial reports to stakeholders.

8. Stay updated on accounting software and tech advances.

9. Establish and enforce financial policies.

10. Adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

11. Manage cash flow and control costs.

12. Analyze budgets and expenditures.

13. Foster relationships with suppliers regulators and auditors.

14. Advising and application of IFRS relevant to the society

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in commerce (Accounting/Finance option) Business Management (Accounting/Finance option) Economics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  
• Qualified Accountant (CPA (K) ACCA or Equivalent
  
• Be a member of a professional body in good standing
  

Knowledge and Skills

• At least 8 years of Financial and Management Accounting experience with 3 years in leadership.
  
• Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability
  
• Strong Financial and Accounting knowledge
  
• Financial analysis and reporting experience
  
• Good knowledge of accounting software
  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
