Join our Building division as a Senior Estimator.

Under the supervision of the Chief Estimator the incumbent will be called upon to estimate the costs of projects of several types (public parapublic private industrial commercial institutional and residential with multiple units) for which the company has decided to respond to a call for tenders and participate in the coordination of the project.


RESPONSABILITIES

The estimator should be able to manage a submission from opening to closing:

study plans and specifications;

interpret the technical specifications of the tender documents;

analyze and prepare tender documents;

discuss the working methods to be applied parts of the work to be subcontracted risks and constraints of the call for tenders;

perform quantity calculations;

evaluate the costs of materials labor and necessary equipment;

find prices from subcontractors and suppliers;

establish the work schedule;

communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain file clarifications;

participate in mandatory visits and / or client meetings for relevant information;

prepare the review of proposals and ensure that the scope of work is complete;



Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

hold a DEC in building estimation architecture civil engineering or the equivalent;

have a minimum relevant experience of 8 to 15 years;

knowledge of the local construction market and the Building Code;

bilingualism (an asset);

knowledge of OST Timberline MS Project and Windows environment software (an asset).

Professional background in communication, marketing, or related disciplines; 3-5 years of relevant work experience; Excellent capacity for analysis and synthesis; Great autonomy and attention to detail; Demonstrate initiative, rigour, integrity, and discretion; Advanced proficiency in English language communication skills, both written and oral; Demonstrate strong time management and planning skills and excel in a deadline-driven environment; Develop the ability to tell stories: stories about clients, projects, people and EBC, and incorporate these stories into written narratives and supporting graphics within proposals that address the unique needs of each client; Strong skills organizational skills, and a good ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work on several of them simultaneously; Skills in proofreading, good judgment, and ability to solve problems; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams); Intermediate knowledge of the Adobe suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator); Adaptability and flexibility in terms of working hours; Ability to work under pressure to meet delivery dates.
