We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Environmental Manager to join our Rail and Infrastructure team at Ground Control. This role will work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders delivering key strategic objectives and innovation to deliver business and project deliverables.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Internal and external communication
- Building suitable resources to support business ambitions
- Leading business change and innovation
- Supporting the operational team from preconstruction
- Preparation of associated fee proposals
- Managing and coordinating scheme delivery in required timeframes from ecological assessments
- BNG assessments and traditional ecological surveying.
- Responsible for the specific ecological profit and loss for this business unit
- Coordinating subconsultant supply chain resource vetting and QA of required output.
- Line management of the ecological team (resource ecologist/grad ecologist & subconsultants
This is a great role for experienced environmental or ecological experts ideally with a strong focus on rail. You will need;
- Full membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
- Knowledge and experience of policy regulations standards metrics and tools relating to biodiversity along with general wildlife legislation across the UK and its application.
- Experience and understanding of UKHab classification Biodiversity Metric and strong botanical skills;
- A background in conversation or deep understanding of conservation management methods related to biodiversity;
- Experience of habitat creation and management.
- Have experience in customer facing situations related to early customer engagement;
- Have high attention to detail especially with technical output excellence;
- Experience of operating at a senior level leading the biodiversity elements of major projects and delivery of highquality deliverables
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects including commercial resourcing and scheduling activities
- Good GIS skills
This is a hybrid role with plenty of working at home therefore we can be flexible on location however nationwide travel may be required from time to time therefore you must hold full UK driving licence
