Senior Data Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer for one of our clients in the insurance industry.
What is in it for you:
Hourly salary of $55 to $69.97 based on experience.
6month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Hybrid work: 3 office days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:
Mentor and coach data engineers on the team providing technical guidance and leadership to build an impactful data engineering team.
Work with stakeholders and analysts to document and validate data sources to expand existing datamarts and warehouses.
Build test and maintain data pipelines with a focus on continuous integration and faulttolerant ETL processes.
Design and implement performant data views and work with stakeholders through the data certification and risk management process.
Mentor fellow engineers and share technical knowledge within Group Benefits.
Grow your engineering skillset by participating in training coaching and code review sessions.
Lead the development of data integration solutions including API integrations and data feeds.
Utilize expertise in big data and cloud computing to ensure solutions are scalable efficient and effective.
Design develop and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to extract transform and load data from various sources into Manulifes data warehouse.
Develop and maintain the companys data architecture including data models schemas and data dictionaries.
What you will need to succeed:
6 years of previous data engineering experience.
3 years of experience building table structures to accommodate multiple data entry points serving diverse customer needs.
Advanced experience with SQL Stored Procedures and ETL processes using SSIS Visual Studio and other data extraction tools.
Strong knowledge of Azure services such as Databricks ADF ADLS Synapse etc.
Experience in designing and developing scripts for ETL processes and automation in Azure Data Factory Azure Databricks and PySpark using Python Spark and TSQL.
Good understanding of data modeling and the ability to apply different techniques within a cloud platform.
Knowledge of Azure networking components including Subnets private endpoints firewalls etc.
Proficiency in using GIT/Jenkins for deployment pipelines.
