Job Summary (Sample):
Liaise with service areas to identify opportunities for improvement and strategic service issues to be addressed.
Develop business cases to inform decisionmaking and generate supporting proposals.
Identify new technologies and their application for the benefit of the council and its stakeholders.
Key Duties (Sample):
Accountable for the development of business cases for transformational change including options and a recommended way forward enabling the council to select appropriate projects to progress.
Accountable for planning the business analysis effort on projects in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Responsible for shaping and the handover of welldefined projects (including scope and governance) to project managers and their delivery teams.
Responsible for identifying opportunities for council services to provide bestvalue.
Responsible for identifying new technologies which may be of benefit to the council and for working with the council services to determine potential applications for the technology.
Responsible for the performance of business analysis tasks as required on projects (e.g. gap analysis rootcause analysis requirements gathering).
Contribute as required to process analysis and reengineering efforts.
Contribute to the development of benefits management plans and work with the service areas to help them realise the benefits.
Contribute as required to Council Service Plans and the ICT Strategy..
Contribute to the development of the CPT pipeline based on Service Plan requirements.
Essential Experience Required:
> 10 years experience of practical business analysis
> 5 years practical experience of business analysis in local government
Ability to operate under own initiative
Lean certification ability to identify waste in processes and remove it
Ability to identify and convey FTE related efficiency benefits in a clear business case input
Strong stakeholder management skills
Ability to look at a council service and see the issues and translate that through the full BA cycle into benefits to be realised
Experience with implementing Voice Automation and market leading CRM
Ability to understand and optimise our customer journeys
Ability to transfer knowledge of outcomes and methods to team members and key stakeholders.
