Senior Accountant

Our client is multinational company leading in innovative solutions in the infrastructure energy and water sectors aimed at sustainability. The Senior Accountant role based in Accra will support the Country Project Manager to manage the economic and financial administration of the Ghana operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly reporting to Head Office in Europe
  
• Control of bank balances and account reconciliations
  
• Ensure financial integrity of company operations by providing technical accounting input and control procedures.
  
• Perform and coordinate all accounting taxation and financial activities of the company.
  
• File and manage Income Tax VAT WHT Reconciliations Corporate Tax and all statutory obligations as per Ghana laws
  
• In charge of all data entries such as Journals Payroll Purchase Orders Invoices Petty Cash/Cheque and transfer payments in QuickBooks
  
• Manage and supervise the work of the external audit company for annual statements and corporate tax presentation
  
• Fixed assets accounting and coordinating company inventories.
  
• Prepare monthly management and yearend accounts.
  
• Supervise payroll.
  
• Support the Administrative function as and when required.
  
  

Requirements

• A bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related subjects.
  
• Membership of a professional body (ACCA CIM) will be a plus
  
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in a similar role with a reputable institution
  
• Experience working in an audit company would be a plus
  
• A sound understanding of Ghanas taxation system.
  
• Knowledge of QuickBooks is mandatory; any other accounting software will be a plus.

• Must be computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Word Excel and Windows
